Wilderness Club Started

On this day in 1892, the Sierra Club was first formed in San Francisco, California. The Sierra Club founders wanted to preserve wildlife and save wilderness areas. Today people in Sierra Club organizations all over the country work to promote conservation. They also try to persuade lawmakers to make decisions that are good for the environment.
