Commemorating Chien-Shiung Wu

On this day in 1912, Chien-Shiung Wu, a pioneering physicist who challenged and changed the accepted view of the structure of the universe, was born in Shanghai, China.

Wu received many distinguished honors, including being the first woman elected president of the American Physical Society. She is also the first living scientist to have an asteroid named after her.
