Science Giants: Walter Gilbert

On this day in 1932, Walter Gilbert was born in Boston, Massachusetts. Even though he was a physics teacher, Gilbert helped out in biology labs and became interested in how cells grow. He now works on understanding DNA, and he won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1980 for his work.
