Science Giants: Caroline Herschel
On this day in 1750, Caroline Herschel was born in Hanover, Germany. Her parents didn't believe in education for girls, so she never went to school. However, she moved to Bath, England to be help her brother with his work as an astronomer and telescope maker. Eventually, Caroline Herschel worked on her own and made many important astronomical discoveries, including three nebulae and eight comets.
