Science Giants: Albert Einstein

On this day in 1879, Albert Einstein was born in Ulm, Germany. Einstein was a great physicist. One of his famous accomplishments occurred in 1905. At that time he stated that matter and energy are different forms of the same thing.

Einstein wrote an equation, which is now called the Einstein equation, showing that a small amount of mass can be converted to a very large amount of energy. In 1921 Einstein received the Nobel Prize in Physics for his work.
