Science Giants: Lafayette Benedict Mendel

On this day in 1872, biochemist Lafayette Benedict Mendel was born in Delhi, New York. He was interested in how people and animals benefit from different types of foods. His research led to his discovery of Vitamin A in 1913 and the Vitamin B complex in 1915.
