Edison Makes a Record-Breaking Record

On this day in 1877, American inventor Thomas Edison made the first recording of a human voice. Edison was looking for ways to improve the telegraph when he accidentally invented the phonograph. His earliest recordings were made on tin foil, but he later switched to wax so the recordings were clearer. What did Edison decide to record first? The poem "Mary Had a Little Lamb"!
