Science Giants: Louis Pasteur

On this day in 1822, Louis Pasteur was born in Dole, France. Pasteur discovered two kinds tiny harmful organisms: bacteria and viruses. This busy scientist discovered two methods to protect people from harmful microorganisms: immunization and Pasteurization. Pasteurization is a way to kill bacteria in food by heating it.
