Boy King Buried in a Heap of Gold!
On this day in 1922, archaeologists discovered the tomb of King Tutankhamen, better known as King Tut, the boy pharaoh. The discovery of Tut's tomb in the Valley of the Kings at Luxor, Egypt sparked new interest in archeological exploration. Over the following decade, archeologists discovered more than 5,000 objects buried with Tut, including chariots, games, and a coffin made of gold.Tut was the youngest pharaoh of ancient Egypt. He was nine years oldwhen he took the throne and eighteen when he died in 1327 B.C
