Happy Birthday, Eileen Collins!

On this day in 1956, Eileen Collins was born in Elmira, New York. As a child she dreemed about becoming a pilot and astronaut. Collins joined the Air Force and was chosen to join the astronaut program. In 1995, she became the first woman to pilot the Space Shuttle. In 1999, Collins became the first woman to command a shuttle mission.
