Darwin Completes Historic Voyage on HMS Beagle

On this date in 1836, British scientist Charles Darwin completed a five-year expedition aboard the HMS Beagle. Darwin used the journey to gather knowledge about wildlife from many different regions of the world. Darwin would later use this information as a foundation for his famous book on evolution, called The Origin of Species.
