Which way do they go?

Powerful tropical low-pressure cells swirl over the ocean. A hurricane is on the move. These storms produce high winds and heavy rains. Whenever they make landfall, damage and flooding is severe.

Meteorologists track each hurricane, monitoring its development and movements using maps, satellite photos, and special planes that fly into the storm. Then computers model the hurricane's predicted path to show where damage may occur.
